The old fashioned style of writing can be a little awkward to read but it's worth getting to grips with for some light entertainment which can bring a smile to the face. I thoroughly enjoyed this and would recommend the book as perfect for short stories suitable for waiting rooms, whether waiting for a doctor or a plane. No serious blood and guts, so there aren't likely to be any nightmares! I downloaded 'Cleek of Scotland Yard' when I downloaded this one and have just found 'Cleek: the Man of the Forty Faces". I shan't be reading them just yet - too soon - but I am sure they will be as enjoyable as this was.Product details

I love the Cleek stories! They are very engaging and just plain fun to read!
A series of stories about a crook-turned-detective. Great stories, but the 8x11 format of the paperback book makes it a little inconvenient to read.
Clever, witty and fearless Cleek is changed forever by the chance encounter with a woman and a rascally boy. Great fun.
A pretty good read.
I really love the Cleek series, an ex-royal, ex-criminal who consults with the police. He is more like-able than the arrogant Sherlock Holmes or the pompous Poirot, but every bit as clever as they are. An enjoyable read, definitely
I wish I had read this one first. It's a good read with short detective stories, and tells Cleek's origins.
