I enjoyed this book and like to return to it when I need a sweet romance story to relax with. Caleb, Ethan, and Allen are brothers who run their family ranch, but have lost their sense of family especially since Allen came back from the military wounded and trying to drink his nightmares away. Lily died in 1919, but returns to help out people who need her and disappears when her work is done. This time she returns to be a housekeeper and cook for the three brothers and to heal and bring together the brothers as a family again. The only thing that had me feeling uneasy is when the brothers first meet her, all they can think about is having sex with her. She was 17 years old when she died and having three big men lusting after her living in the same house feels threatening even though Lily stands up to them and handles herself well. I didn't like that they gave her the silent treatment when she first rebuffed their advances which isolates her. What tempers this situation is just how much all three brothers have fallen in love, not lust, with her and how their relationship brings them all closer together. The brothers would never hurt Lily and I like the way the brothers treat Lily and show how much she means to them.Product details

Lily Cowboys Fantasy Romance Heaven Sent Book 1 edition by SE Smith Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews
I was surprised with this one. I wasn't expecting to like it at all. If I can use one word to describe it, I would say "sweet." I'm a bit surprised by some of the negative reviews. Of course this is not "realistic". It's a fantasy novel. I don't think this author has written a single "real/possible" romance novel. All of her books are not only fictional, but fantasy! Furthermore, it's erotica. If you're looking into tame sex, go for blush novels. If you want to add a splice of what's real and what isn't, then I would say reality would be more like f/f/f/m rather than the reverse! After all, polygamy does exist in today's world only in reverse of the sexes (damn!) since women far outnumber the men. Coming off my soapbox, I would like to say I would've enjoyed this book more had there been more development with each brother on their own, mixed with a few scenes of threesomes before coming into the 4-some full blast. I would agree on the fact that taking a virgin into an immediate foursome is a bit much. Overall though, I thought it well-written despite content.
An awful, rushed, careless cowboy imitation of The Clans of Kalquor, a much better series.
*SPOILERS*
The brothers practically jumped on her at first sight, groping and dominating her within hours without any consideration to her feelings at all. They take her virginity without even slowing down or preparing her, *all* of her virginity. They find out how old she was, almost a hundred years ago, and *gasp* she's suddenly jailbait. "Oh ick, we don't want you any more, and we don't care about your safety either"
There was nothing redeemable about this book at all. I read almost everything else by this author and loved it all. That makes this one just that much more a slap in the face.
I enjoyed this story and think it's a good introduction novel to the author. I'm not sure what I can say in regards to a recommendation or review. I liked the story, the characters were interesting. I think my biggest not so much complaint but desire is that for the brother Allen. It alludes to his military career, his being taken hostage, nightmares, etc but it doesn't talk about it or how his injuries affect him now and the nightmares, etc. I think going in to that would help give this character more depth. Other than that I enjoyed it.
This book contained spelling and grammar errors, few enough that I probably could have ignored it if it hadn't been for the actual plot of the book.
The basic plot is kind of interesting, but the female character died just before her 18th birthday in 1919, while having no romantic interests at the time... she reappears at various times throughout the last almost hundred years before arriving on this ranch with three adult brothers. They decide to seduce their new housekeeper and keep her forever.
And this not yet 18-year-old from 1919 doesn't even blink. Even though she likely has limited knowledge of what sex is, her concern is that they'll fall in love with her and she'll leave because she always leaves. Nothing at all about how she is torn between her idea of what a wholesome, godly relationship should be and what these brothers want for her. The author needed to make them work for this relationship more than they did. As the sex scenes had a large part of the book, this really bothered me. She has her first kiss and about a week later, she's having sex with three brothers. I don't think so.
Also, when she sees a picture of two men and a woman, her thought was "oh, they have two dads" rather than "Oh, must be a dad, and uncle and aunt or something."
I have become a fan - having said that; you have to be a fan who is willing to tolerate typos and inappropriately defined words and wrong tenses. In spite of that, I think Ms. Smith is a really talented writer - she will become a talented author when her editing is better. I'm willing to help and its not my background!
This story is a redemption story, Lily is a traveling soul; she comes when she is needed helps the people she works for, solve their problems and them returns to the hereafter. The brothers need help, they work hard, one of them has a problem with PTSD and while the other two love him and want to help, they have a ranch to run and they don't know how to handle him, Lily does! This is not a long read and yes, it has erotic content. I think Ms. Smith handles that really well.
I loved the story, the premise and the resolution - while improbable it was wonderful and very romantic. That's why I read romantic fiction. I don't take off for the editing and so I think this deserves 5 stars - its really different from anything else I've read.
